A verse a day is the oldest Bible habit there is, and the easiest one to keep: it asks for a minute, not a morning. Its weakness is the same as its strength. A single verse, lifted out of its chapter and set over a sunrise, can be made to say almost anything, and the most-shared verses are often the most misread.
So this section pairs the daily verse with the reading that keeps it honest. A verse meaning takes one well-known verse and reads it where it stands — who was speaking, to whom, and what the sentence around it adds. The verse lists gather a dozen or more passages on a single subject, each with a short note on what it actually says. And the prayers give you words for the days when you have none of your own.
Every quotation here is the real King James or English Standard wording, taken from the text and checked against it word by word before a page is published. Nothing is paraphrased and called scripture.
If you would rather the verse came to you, the Daily Bible Verse of the Day app puts one on your home screen each morning, with its reference, and keeps the rest of these readings a tap away.
